Another Good Effort
The first game was against Invicta and Lynn started strongly, creating plenty of chances and hit the crossbar and post, before succumbing to an Invicta goal before half time. In the second half Lynn B were certainly not helped by some dubious refereeing decisions including a good penalty shout. However Lynn B continued to battle and were kept in the game by Megan who was making some good stops when Invicta did break through. When it looked as though it was not going to be our day, Dan Howlett scored with under a minute to go to enable the team to gain a well deserved point.

Lynn B were not helped by some dubious refereeing decisions
”
Norwich were next and they had already impressed in a tight game against Cottenham. Starting well, Lynn were unlucky to go behind to a goal that had come off the Norwich player's skate. Putting this disappointment behind them, the team gradually imposed themselves on the game and took a 3-1 lead into half-time. The match continued in the same vein with good team play and four more goals giving the team a 7-1 victory.
Last up were the hosts Cottenham and Lynn B were off to a bad start, conceeding a goal in the first minute. not helped by some poor defending Lynn went into the break 3-0 down. Starting more purposefully in the second half they managed to apply some pressure, but the finishing was not there and the chances went begging. Cottenham on the other hand took their chances and ran out as 8-1 winners with the last goal again being very questionable as their player was standing in the 'D'.
Lynn B certainly played well again as a team and all players again gave good performances all round.

A Great Team Effort
The Schoolboys B were in action at Lynnsport, where the King's Lynn A were holding their home tournament. The B team's first match was against the King's Lynn A Team, who were unbeaten last season and had already started well this season.
The Lynn B team started strongly and held the A team for a full 5 minutes before finally conceeding a goal. Once the initial breach had been made the Lynn B team were then under pressure as Lynn A now had their tails up after being frustrated for so long. Although Lynn B played well, the A team proved to be too strong and rolled out easy winners at 13-2.
Next up were Bury, the league leaders, and we knew this was also going to be a tough game.
Again, Lynn B defended well and man marked well. Bury again being held at bay for 5 minutes before they managed to score. Bury found it hard gong against our well organised defence and at half time, Lynn B were only 3-1 down against the league leaders. The second half saw much of the same play with Lynn B defending well but ultimately going down to a 7-2 defeat.
“
Special mention to Megan Norris, who had an outstanding day in goal
”
The last game of the day was against Invicta. Although Lynn B had played well in the previous matches, this proved to be their match of the day. A well organised defensive display saw them limit Invicta to a solitary goal in the first half, which was cancelled out by a great goal from Tom Barry. the goal was obviously appreciated by Invicta when one of their players came and congratulated Tom.The second half Invicta then took a 4-1 lead. This is when Lynn B finally woke up and started to fightback. With Megan Norris in goal providing some outstanding saves to keep Lynn B in the game, they scored 2 goals which saw them take the initiative and the momentum was with them. The final turning point came in the game when Rees in a goal scoring position, was “impeded” and went off injured. With no foul given Invicta took the ball and scored from the opportunity. Lynn B had lost their momentum and the game finished at 5-3
The whole team fought really hard and put in immense performances throughout the day.
Who knows what could have happened against Bury or Invicta if even just a couple of the many chances we created had gone in?
Although it would be hard to pick out any one performance from a team that all gave 100%, I would like to give a special mention to Megan, who I think had an outstanding day in goal and certainly kept us in the games giving us the chance to maybe pick up a result.

Firing On Four
The Schoolboys B team had their first tournament last weekend and as three players were unable to play the team started the first game with only a Keeper and three outfield players.Playing Walpole first. Tom, Rees, Alex & Megan set out to do their best in their only hope of points in the day.
Keeping their heads and staying goal side, Lynn stayed strong and when the opportunity arose they pushed forward scoring first putting the pressure on Walpole. Half time and we were 3-0 up. Tiring in the second half, Walpole scored, but Lynn quickly responded with a fourth goal. Again Walpole came back scoring again to bring them just one goal behind. With both teams fighting for the next goal and with just a minute to go the ball was in the back of Walpole's net. The team not letting their guard down held Walpole at bay for the last minute to receive a well earned two points.
For the second game they were joined by A team player Josh Gay and Josh Bates, who normally plays in goal, played in the outfield to help give players a break.
Playing the game as a friendly Lynn went down to Bury 8 - 0
Lynn's last game of the day against Herne Bay was again a friendly which saw King's Lynn come out on top. Lynn managing to overcome their opponents in a closely fought 6-5 result. Sadly no points came Lynn's way.
Let's hope next time with a full team they can do the same.
